Support Oracle datatypes with defined as CHAR

Post by rgupta » Mon Jul 22, 2013 3:59 pm

Now with Globalization support in Oracle 11g, more and more database are designed multilingual using Unicode format.

Oracle provides 2 ways of defining varchar datatypes:

Store characters as bytes, it works well for single byte characters like English, Spanish and other Western European languages:

VARCHAR2(20)

Store characters as characters, this stores multibyte characters for supporting Asian and other languages

VARCHAR2(20 CHAR)

It would be really nice if DBSchema can let us define datatypes like these VARCHAR2(20 CHAR)

Thanks.

Hello,

A change Log on your HP or in this board for every build / Version would be very nice.
it`s a bit overhead for you but for us it would help to figure out: "Do I need this update or not"

thx

Hello!

What's the status of this feature? I can't find how I can do it.
