Relational Data Browse & Editor

Relational Data Browse is a DbSchema tool used for exploring and editing data from one or multiple tables based on the foreign keys between them. If no foreign keys are defined, virtual foreign keys can be created in layout. Data Editor tool will open inside the layout and will be saved to project frame.

Relational Data Browse can be started from the menu or by clicking any table or view header. If you started an empty Data Editor editor from the menu, you can add the first table by drag and drop from layout.

You can descend into further tables by clicking the foreign key icon in the toolbar of each browse scene.

The number of tables you can descend into is unlimited. By selecting a different row in one of the windows, the children windows will be updated with the records matching the foreign key between tables.

Filter Data

Filter data from one of the windows by creating a data filter. Click the column header to create the filter.

Insert or Edit Data Records

In the bottom side of each Browse Window there are buttons for inserting new data records. Edit data by double-clicking any of the cells.

View or Upload Images and Blob Data

Relational Data Browse can be used for viewing images from database, blob data, etc. Right-click the column in the browse scene and choose the option to view data. You can view data using external applications as Word, Excel, etc. as well. You have to enter the file extension under which the content will be saved. DbSchema will save it with a random name and the given extension, and will open the application which is registered in Windows as default application for this extension.
